The Studio for the Restoration of Sculptural Works of Art (Academy of Fine Arts in Prague) in co-operation with the Mineral Resources Research Group (Institute of Geochemistry, Mineralogy and Mineral Resources, Faculty of Science, Charles University in Prague) cordially invite you to take part in the international conference “Natural stone for cultural heritage: local resources with a global impact” to be held in Prague, Czech Republic from the 19th through 22nd of September, 2017.

The conference, held under the general patronage of the Royal Canonry of Premonstratensians at Strahov Monastery (Prague, Czech Republic), is a part of the long-term research activities on local natural stone resources in the Czech Republic, currently being supported financially by the Czech Ministry of Culture under the project: Natural stone in sculpture and architecture of the Lands of the Bohemian Crown – a comprehensive information system regarding their resources, properties, use, durability, history of use, compatibility, and interchangeability.

The event is support by European Geosciences Union (EGU). Its W2017/423 award will allow for supporting participation of young scientists (students and/or early carrier scientists) at the conference.
